Going Out With A Bang!

As I sit at my desk taking a sip of my coffee and enjoying the cool crisp breeze from the Atlanta air I reflect. 2021 wasn’t a terrible year although the unimaginable happened and yet I still prevailed. And for that, I give my utmost gratitude and leave this year with no regrets.

After losing one of my best friends on the planet who also happens to be the father of my daughter. My perception of life shifted. I know that life is short and it is to be lived at your best every day but this loss was close to home. It was hard to show up as my best self but I attempted it anyway.

As I pressed forward in my grieving I sought change. I wasn’t sure what exactly it was but I knew that I desired to do something different. Who would’ve ever known that would lead me into the world of tech. I live 10 mins from Georgia Tech, my daughter is studying to become a game developer and codes every day. And never did I see myself entering this field.

Since my last blog post on how I used social media to pivot into data analytics so much has changed. Being a lover of learning this process has been such a delight. In 4 months I have grown my LinkedIn and Twitter network by 50% and added countless skills and tools to my career toolbox.

Skills
Business Analyst Fundamentals
Technical Writing

Advance Excel User
Scrum Fundamentals
Six Sigma

Tools
Power Bi

I share all of this to say, don’t let fear stand in the way of you getting what you desired. Be intentional in everything you do, create a strategy, and put it into play. Start today! Will it be easy? Absolutely not, but I promise it will be worth it. If I accomplished this in 4 months imagine what the next 6 months will look like. Plan, Prepare, Execute is the motto I live by. Wishing each of you an amazing 2022! I will be sharing a lot more of my journey, such as case studies, hands-on labs, and resources. Let’s connect: Follow me on Twitter @NicoleTalksTech
